I'm Just a Kid

Imakid This is us, we are little.

We see you but we
can't talk yet!

Q: Who are you?

A: Its us, the little kids.  See we are bigger now!

Q: Are you black, white, Asian, Indian, Jewish, Chinese, Russian, Muslim, British,
American, Canadian, Catholic, Christian or something else?

A: No silly, we are just little kids.  I am a spaceman.  I'm a princess! I am Superman!  I'm a nurse.
My hands were dirty but I washed them.  See!

A: No, you licked them cause they were sticky.   Did not. Yes you did.  I saw you.  Do you like
my new sweater.  My Mom got it for my birthday.

Q: Who are you?

A: Its us again.  I am this tall. We have new clothes. Maybe you did not
know us with our new clothes.

Q: Oh I see you now.  But who are you?  Are you black,
white, Asian, Indian, Jewish, Chinese, Russian, Muslim, British,
American, Canadian, Catholic, Christian or something else? One
boy is brown and someone else has different eyes.

A: Who? I don't know. Maybe they changed them.  Do you want to
play something.  I am a Princess!

Q: Can I show you some pictures?

A: OK

A: What are they eating?  Is that garbage?  Why?

Q: They are poor and their parents have no jobs to buy food.

A: Aww.  Can we give them some food?

Q: What about this one?

A: They have bones sticking out.  Are they wearing costumes?

Q: No.

A: They are dirty.  Their mommy needs to give them a bath.

A: With bubbles? I like bubbles.

A: Someone should give them food.

Q: What about this one?

A: I was at the beach once.  It had nice sand.  Where is the sand?

Q: It is covered with garbage.

A: They should recycle, then there would be no garbage.

A: I put  my cans in the recycling box.

A: I would be afraid to cut my feet at that beach.  I cut my foot on glass once.
My mommy put on a bandage
.

Q: What about this picture?

A: Is that smoke? It's polootion.  My brother says it can make you sick.
Why don't they turn it off?

Q: The companies that make money pretend it won't hurt you
so they don't have to turn it off.

A: Do they care if we get sick?

Q: No.

A: My dad would make them turn it off.

Q: What about this picture?

A: Why is that man sitting on the sidewalk?

Q: Because he has no home.

A: Why? Did it burn down? Could he live with his brother?

Q: I don't know.

Q: What about this picture?

A: Me, Me.  I can read those words.  It says .... He ....said...
it.. it...wont... happen...again.

A: What won't happen again? Did she have an accident? Did someone hit her?

Q: Yes.

A: Why?

Q: I don't know.

A: My daddy hits my mommy.  She cries.  It makes me scared.

Q: What about this picture?

A: Why is that man kicking that lady?

A: That's not nice. He could hurt her.

Q: Yes.

A: Is she bad?

Q: I don't know.

Q: What about this picture?

A: Wh
at are they doing to that little boy?

Q: They want to hurt him.

A:  Why? Thats mean.  They should not do that.

Q: Please don't cry.

Q: What about this picture?

A: Are those dead people?

Q: Yes.

A: Ewww. Was there a big fire?

Q: No. We dropped bombs on them to kill them.

A: Were kids hurt too?

Q: Yes.  We hurt all of them.

A: Why? Would someone do that to us?

Q: I hope not.

Q: What about these two pictures?

A: Are those kids laughing at her?  I would tell them to stop. They are being mean.

Q: Yes.

A:  Why is that boy pushing his friend?

Q:  He is bullying him.

A: Why?  Are they playing?

Q: No.

A: That's mean.  He should stop. He could hurt him.

Q: Yes.

Q: What do you think of all the pictures?

A: They make me sad.

A: Me too. I would not like to eat garbage.  We should send those kids food. Then they would be happy.

Q: Maybe you can think of a way they can get food.

A: We could help them grow beans, or build them a store for food.

A: We should recycle more, then the beaches would be clean and then they could get water for their garden.

Q: Can you imagine a world where everyone has food and is not poor?  And no one
hurts each other?  Especially little kids?

A: I can.  I can. I would like to help everyone, especially animals.

Q: What about wars?

A: They should make them against the law.

A: Nobody should hurt other people. Maybe we could give them a ticket.  My Dad got a for speeding
once and he said he could not afford to pay for it. Maybe that would stop the wars if they had to pay for tickets.

Q: Would you want to hurt someone if they are black or white and you are not, or if they are Asian,
Indian, Jewish, Chinese, Russian, Muslim, British, American, or Canadian? Or if they are Catholic or
Christian or Muslim and you are not.

A: No silly we are friends. Olivia's eyes are blue.  Mine are brown.

A: My mom says we are from India.  But I don't care, I like living here.  All my friends are here.

Q:Which of these cars do you like

A: I like the flying truck.  The big wheels are awesome.

A: You could go right over top of other cars and fly up in the air. Zoom!

A: Yeah!

A: I like Barbie's purple car.  When I grow up that's what I want.

A: Me too.

A:  But you're a boy. Boys don't drive Barbie cars.

A: So, I will paint it red with pictures of tigers and lions.

Q: What about the blue car? It is expensive.

A: Its OK.

A: It looks like my mom's car.  Except its green and goes 100.

Q:  Will you kids promise to make the world a nicer place to live?

A: I will.  I will give everybody food and a house to live in.

A: I will give them money so they don't have to eat garbage.

A: I won't fight or hurt anyone, especially my friends.

A: I am a Princess.  I will wave my wand and make bad people disappear.

Q:  How did we get from here?
BeHappy
to here?
